Michael Moore's 'Sicko' on T.V. Tonight

The Movie Channel, this evening, will be airing the Oscar-nominated
documentary, "Sicko," Michael Moore's film about a villain known as the
health insurance industry. With the debate raging in Washington, D.C. --
Republicans trying to scuttle it, the President trying to hang on to his
public option, and nearly a hundred members of Congress pushing for a
single-payer system -- showing "Sicko" tonight is very timely. Mike lays out ll the facts and the arguments as to why the private insurance companies are never going to side with what's best for the American people.
"Sicko" airs on The Movie Channel tonight at 8:00 PM. It's also scheduled to air on The Movie Channel on July 27th at 4:05 PM and on TMC Xtra on August and at 10:45 PM and August 5th at 2:15 AM and 7:30 AM. Click

Explore sustainability and climate change, calculate your carbon footprint, build your inventory of sustainable practices and participate in recreational activities at McKeever Center and nearby Lake Wilhelm and Goddard State Park. Week Seven will present a variation on the theme of "Imagine..." as the Department of Religion seeks to "Imagine a World of Peace through Compassion." Partnering with the Chautauqua Peace and Justice Society and TED, the organization that is granting TED winner Karen Armstrong’s wish to create a worldwide Charter of Compassion, the department will present Sister Joan Chittister and Karen Armstrong, both powerful voices for peace through compassion. KEEP plans Press Conference August 13, 2009
ENVIRONMENTAL, BUSINESS AND COMMUNITY LEADERS PLAN PRESS CONFERENCE ON MONITORING ORDINANCE PASSAGE THURSDAY AUG 13
KEEP is calling on Erie City Council to pass the Continuous Emissions Monitoring System Ordinance as written by KEEP.
A Continuous Emissions Monitoring System Ordinance would place a premium on holding local polluters accountable to the community in which they wish to operate.
In the spirit of community activism and with deep concern for the environmental future of the Erie regional community, the grassroots environmental group Keep Erie's Environment Protected (KEEP) has called for a press conference this Thursday, August 13 at 3:30 PM.
The press conference will be held a the Blasco Memorial Library's Admiral Room and will feature an assorted mix of environmental, business, community, academic and medical leaders whom all embrace in common a desire to hold any major polluter in our community accountable to the community.
