Burning River Fest 2008 - Saturday, August 9th
This one day family-friendly festival celebrates our local:
  • Environmental Organizations
  • Green Companies
  • Musicians
  • Artisans
  • Sustainable Farmers and Restaurants
  • Historic Coast Guard Station and
  • Waterways!

The Nautica Entertainment Complex location provides a scenic view of Cleveland’s riverfront and serves as a living exhibit of the river’s environmental and economic impact on our community. Celebrate and support the crown jewels of our region!

Environmental Awareness
"Green" organizations, companies and sponsors will delight attendees of all ages with inspiring, interactive and eco-friendly exhibits and demonstrations.  Current exhibitors include:

Educational Message
Environmental education is one of the most important components of Burning River Fest. In addition to the variety of green exhibitors, Burning River Fest will feature an environmental Discussion Series on topics including:
  • Green Building and Home Improvement
  • Green Cleaning
  • Stormwater Management
  • Development Projects on Lake Erie
  • Global Warming and Climate Control
  • Urban Agriculture and Community Supported Agriculture

As an added bonus, educational and scenic boat rides will be available on Lake Erie and around the Historic Coast Guard Station via The Holiday.  Burning River Fest 2008 also welcomes back the Appledore V Tall Ship out of Bay City, MI!  Check back soon for private sail registration!

Musical Entertainment
Cleveland is the "Rock & Roll Capital", and what's a celebration without music?? The Festival Stages features local musicians from 12:15pm - 7:00pm and the Plain Dealer Pavilion Stage will rock with an opener and headliner from 7:00pm - 11:00pm!

Kid's Korner
Exotic face painters, enriching kid's crafts and talented storytellers will entertain and educate kids young and old! Current kid-friendly activities include:

  • Robin Pease Kerr's Kulture Kids - "Spirit of the Corn" Music and Dance

Sustainable Nourishment
Local chefs, restaurateurs, volunteers and sustainable farmers will prepare and provide samples of food with all-natural ingredients grown right here in Ohio. Great Lakes Brewing Company beer will be available, as well as wine and other refreshments.  New in 2008 - Special food and cooking demonstrations by local farmers and chefs!  Current local food participants include:
