Taking On the Big Boys, Taking Back Our Health Care System

You have heard that health care for all will cost too much money. Yet the reverse is true, and over the next several months we will prove it. A reform in health care policy that includes everyone will save billions of dollars throughout our commonwealth. Who will save? The people who go to work every day, the business owner whether large or small, the families trying to send their children to college, the taxpayer. We will show you how to see the whole picture.

Health insurance, which has been receiving handouts from hard working people, from businesses large and small, from governmental bodies at all levels, is the industry siphoning off our hard-earned dollars. It is this industry that has proven itself to be counterproductive to the health of our country. Corporate health insurance has become a leech not only on the well-being of those who cannot afford their ever-increasing rates but on business owners and on taxpayers. The taxpayer pays through increased taxes and decreased services as costs become uncontrollable. Our cities and towns are forced to cut personnel from programs that protect children and to cut police and fire fighters that protect all of us. In Philadelphia people are protesting the closing of libraries! In 2003 Richard Wagoneer, CEO of GM warned, " Failing to address the health care crisis would be the worst kind of procrastination, the kind that places our children and our grandchildren at risk and threatens the health and global competitiveness of our nation's economy". Wow, if we had only taken his advice in 2003!

It is time to replace the health insurance industry which values profits ahead of wellness and healthy outcomes.
Pennsylvania has 67 counties. We will be releasing data on each and every one of them to show you the amount that each county, each municipality, and each school district within that county will save. Once true health care reform is enacted, and we remove the useless, non-productive health insurance industry from the equation, we will see savings to all. Americans work too hard to carry this commercial enterprise any longer!

We are beginning with Erie County, located in the very northwest of the Commonwealth through to Philadelphia, the largest county located in the very southeast of the state and ending at the steps of our capital in Harrisburg. We will release this information one county at a time so that you will be able to take in the magnitude of the figures. Each report will come with a disclaimer that states the following: HealthCare4AllPA will not be responsible for any heart attacks, any riots after cities announce police layoffs, any marches on individual legislative offices. Please know that Governor Rendell is committed to signing HB 1660 & SB 400 when it gets to his desk.

Erie County and the municipalities and school districts within the County spend $78,958,920 on health care. Taxpayers will save $45,288,935 with the passage of HB 1660 and SB 400 and every employee will have comprehensive health care.

The details for Erie County of each county to follow will be posted at our website, www.healthcare4allpa.org.
